Summary

Per Sé Group is hiring experienced Control Room Operators for a power plant located in Southern California. The position is ideal for a professional with experience in the Control Room at a plant that utilizes supercritical technology.

Responsibilities
 

  • Oversee the safe, efficient, reliable and environmentally sound operation of plant equipment
  • Understand and execute the equipment clearance procedure
  • Properly operate Control Room, HRSG, steam turbine, gas turbines, plant auxiliary equipment and systems during normal and emergency operation
  • Communicate information clearly, both orally and written
  • Assist others in performance testing
  • Assist in on-the-job training of other Operators
  • Troubleshoot plant equipment to resolve operational problems
  • Generate and review Work Requests for execution of equipment repair
  • Operate various computer systems to receive, analyze, comprehend and input data
  • Monitor and record data available through the use of various instruments, recording charts, annunciator systems and other monitoring devices onto shift logs as directed by plant operational procedures
  • Assist in providing skill enhancement training to other personnel
  • Implement Plant Emergency Procedures as needed
  • Operate electric generating units to control flow and processing of electrical energy and process steam to customer
  • Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings
  • Use loose and tight fit respirators
  • Assist maintenance personnel in performance of maintenance activities to include use of tools, equipment and Company vehicles

Desired Skills and Experience
 
  • Five or more years of supercritical or high-pressure utility experience preferred
  • Two or more years of control room operator hands on experience preferred
  • Three or more years’ experience in small fossil fuel power plants, combined cycle power plants, refineries or related fields will be considered
  • Mechanical, electrical or instrumentation experience is a plus
  • Equivalent skills, training and technical experience will be considered
