Per Se is currently seeking an experienced Plant Manager for a long-term opportunity with our client based out of Alaska. This client specializes in delivering essential utility services, with a primary focus on supplying electricity, water, and wastewater services to military installations and government facilities. Their expertise lies in the operation and maintenance of utility systems, ensuring the dependable and efficient provision of vital services to their clientele.
Responsibilities:
- Assess capital budget requirements and provide input to the corporate rolling 5-year plan with emphasis on developing scopes of work and reliable cost estimates for the first year of the plan during each annual submission cycle.
- Establish safety and environmental work practices in accordance with the corporate safety program.
- Direct the full range of activities for the electrical production system and dispatch, including development of contingency plans in the event of a power outage and load shedding priorities in coordination with the respective directors.
- Provide directions to utility contracted vendors to ensure a reliable service to customers.
- Operate within a regulated utility environment including operating within ADEC, EPA, DOT, DOL, OSHA and EEOC guidelines.
- Produce an annual budget and execute within said budget.
- Meet the reporting requirements established for the utility operations.
- Supervise all aspects of the operations and maintenance and effectively provide direction to the Maintenance and Operations Supervisors, plant work leaders and plant personnel.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred or will consider equivalent experience.
- 7+ years managerial experience with progressive responsibility in power generation, coal fired preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with CMMS software (Maximo, preferred).
- General knowledge of plant controls, tools, equipment, and proper procedures to maintain the plant and the ability to analyze plant operations and offer suggestions to improve operational efficiency.
- Extensive knowledge and proficiency in developing projects including job development and cost estimating.
- Maintain a working knowledge of regulatory requirements, especially as they are dictated by EPA, OSHA, ADEC, Regulatory Commission of Alaska and other agencies.
