Summary
Per Se is looking for a project manager for a long term contract with a large utilities company in Oregon. Successful candidates will have managed electrical projects and must have strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities
  • Role requires a highly experienced individual with a solid track record of successfully managing strategic and diverse projects.
  • May be assigned to manage multiple initiatives/activities per year.
  • Position will also be point person for writing portions of a regulatory document which requires more formal business writing experience.
  • Refine project plan that include deliverables, work breakdown structure, stakeholder list, roles and responsibilities, dependencies, detailed project plan and timelines to meet business objectives and regulatory deadlines.
  • Lead project team in project execution, ensuring compliance with standard project management methodologies.
  • Establish and maintain formal controls to manage and monitor project scope, quality and schedule to ensure project is completed on time and effectively.
  • Negotiate necessary project changes with project sponsor. Maintain, adjust and update project plans as needed.
  • Develop communication plans.
  • Provide timely, accurate communication of project plans and status to internal partners and prepare materials for external stakeholder workshops.
  • Perform risk management to ensure risks are identified, tracked and minimized.
  • Work effectively with multiple organizations such as the Transportation Electrification programs, rates and regulatory affairs, strategic planning, program implementation, engineering, finance and accounting, and other business partners to ensure successful completion of project.
  • Effectively lead cross-functional teams in completing business critical and strategic project.
  • Close out project, capturing lessons learned during the project for input to improving future projects.
  • Assist managers in establishing process controls in order to measure baseline and post-improvement performance to monitor success of improvement initiatives.
    Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive budget and cost effectiveness analysis, including alignment between the Business Line and Finance


     
Required Skills and Experience
  • Thorough knowledge of project management science, methodologies and standards.
  • Excellent clear, concise communication skills, both written and oral, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn regulatory requirements and write written documentation to support meeting the requirements
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion
  • Excellent listening skills, including the ability to draw information out and to see things from another’s perspective.
  • Proven problem solving skills and the ability to facilitate and resolve problems, arrive at consensus of business need and viable solution; comprehensive knowledge of problem analysis.
  • Excellent consulting skills.
  • Strong human relations skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Visio.
  • Typically 8-10 years of project management experience
  • Typically a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Psychology or English.
  • Prefers Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Familiarity with basic financial concepts such as budgeting and cost effectiveness
