They are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to support their growth and ensure that bids are competitive, comprehensive, and accurate.
Position Overview:
Per Se Group is looking for a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our client's team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for ground-up construction projects, including industrial, commercial, distribution, and logistics centers. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost factors to ensure that projects are bid correctly and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ground-up construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify the scope of work and required materials.
- Solicit and review bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Develop comprehensive take-offs and material quantity estimates.
- Work closely with the Project Management team to review and finalize bid proposals.
- Maintain updated knowledge of industry costs, trends, and local market conditions.
- Assist in value engineering and cost analysis to maximize project profitability.
- Ensure all estimates are completed within required timelines to meet bid deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, and historical cost data.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on industrial, commercial, distribution, or logistics center projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and labor costs.
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, Procore, or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
