Job Summary

Responsible for basic operational knowledge of all plant systems and perform operation of the equipment within specification and environmental regulations and will work under the direction of skilled Plant Technicians.

Responsible for continuing to learn the proper function and perform maintenance of equipment at a Gas Plant for the Gas fleet. Responsible for promoting safe, effective, and reliable operation.

The facility is a Combined Cycle Natural Gas Power Plant. This position will provide day to day maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection and repairs to the facility equipment.

Job Description

Required duties
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on the plant instrumentation, electrical and control system , including weekends, holidays and scheduled shift.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair plant electronic, pneumatic systems, analyzers, facility computers, process control equipment and instrumentation.
• Participate in major maintenance projects, including equipment overhauls and removal and replacement of major units and parts. Inspects and monitors work of third-party contractors during major equipment repair or installation.
• Evaluate, maintain and repair (low, medium, high voltage) breakers, switch gear, switch yards, motor control centers, AC & DC circuitry, electrical disconnect, transformers, lighting panels, HVAC UPS, batteries, charger, inverters and VFD's
• Evaluate, maintain, and repair electrical equipment & controls, relay protection schemes, electrical monitoring equipment, various operating gauges, instruments, PLC's and alarms.
• Must be able to frequently climb ladders; enter confined spaces; climb to and work from elevated platforms, ladders and walkways at elevations of 80 feet and more;
• Assisting/performing troubleshooting of plant equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure proper functioning, daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repair /replacement and removal/installation of plant equipment and structures.
• Provides skills for maintaining equipment at the plant
• Perform clearances in REDTAG under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor
• Utilizes/operates various types of hand, power, precision or machine tools necessary to support safe and productive work environments.
• Maintains a working knowledge of all electronic control systems and computers
• Understands and follows current safety and environmental regulations necessary to conduct all phases of work
• Ensures strict adherence to safety, health and environmental procedures as they relate to plant operations and maintenance including but not limited to Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety and PPE

Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
• 2 -4 years of related experience
• Satisfactory completion of Tier 1 job performance measures composed of basic: Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrument and Controls
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
• If applicable, candidate will hold the required level of state license as recognized by the governing body of that particular state
• Demonstrate standard computer based skills
• Demonstrate effective oral & verbal communications skills
• If applicable, candidate must meet the requirement of PT1-E

• Must pass EEI POSS/MASS pre-employment test
